“Willie Tokataake Appointed as the new Speaker of the House of Parliament”

The House of Parliament, together with Chief Justice Tetiro Semilota Maate Moaniba, officially confirmed Willie Tokataake as the new Speaker of the House. Chief Justice Semilota made the announcement, noting that Tokataake was the sole candidate put forward, with no other nominations from the House of Parliament menbers. In his address, Hon. Willie Tokataake expressed his gratitude for the appointment and vowed to diligently fulfill his responsibilities as Speaker, recognizing the significant role he will play in serving the people of Kiribati. Additionally, all newly elected Members of Parliament from their respective islands were sworn in during this session. ...........
