“Wauowa Capsizing Incident: Quick Action Ensures Safety”

A canoe called Wa-uowa, with two people on board, accidentally capsized in the waters between South Tarawa and North Tarawa on Tuesday October 8th. Ioane Uerem, one of the rescuers, told Radio Kiribati News that the Wa-uowa was on its way to North Tarawa to collect patches from the island when it encountered trouble. Ioane stated that the two individuals on board were rescued by a fisherman in his aluminum boat and brought back to the island. He mentioned that they approached him seeking help to retrieve the Wa-uowa. Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident. ............
